A GDC investigation can be a source of great anxiety. If you're a DDU member and you're notified of a complaint, contact us immediately so we can assign a dento-legal adviser (DLA) to help you.
All our DLAs are dental professionals themselves, with real-life experience of the pressures of every-day practice and of managing fitness to practise cases. They'll work with your legal team to represent you effectively, and will also be on hand to answer your questions and provide moral support.
The investigation and adjudication process can last for many months - even years - and we know from members themselves that it's reassuring to have someone to turn to for expert advice and encouragement throughout.
Our video guide has more information about the GDC fitness to practise process and the support available from the DDU. You can also read our guide on sources of support for more information on where to turn to for help if you need it.
